A.       BACKGROUND
The achievement on accreditation predicate "A" implied not only positive effect but also little bit difficult for Accounting program; it meant that Accounting program must be able to maintain the predicate until the following accreditation process. The wise said: "Maintaining something is more difficult than gaining it".
That implication must be understood as a challenge to be better by doing inovation and creation in the field of realizing tri dharma of higher education. The one of it was by guiding students' activity based on continuous improvement concept as well as trusted one in every accreditation program.
Moreover, excursion program (SE) that have been done in Accounting program till 2000s seemed to be liked by some students. Regardless of the negative aspect (like the high cost and ineffective of added value which obtained from the company visits), SE still have the positive effect for students.
Considering about the students who want to held SE and others who do not want to hold SE, so it needed to create a program that could give added value for the students and that related to the field of accounting.
B.       OBJECTIVE
The aim of this program is to give additional value for accounting students beside knowledge on their text-book. Particularly, the aims of this program as follows:
1.    To introduce the real practice in accounting at company
2.    To give new related-knowledge with accounting
3.    To increase the students' skill in the field of accounting
 
C.        GENERAL  PROVISION
1.    This program began to be effective for students from 2006 academic year
2.    The participation in this program become a prerequisite for programing thesis.
3.    The participation proof is shown by certificate, assertion letter, and /or participants' mark (for those who is programming and have not finish yet)
 
D.       DESCRIPTION  OF PROGRAM
In order to give added value, the students are required to follow "ONLY" one of the following activities (fardlu kifayah):
1.      Company visits (SE).
2.      Internship in the field of accounting
3.      Brevet AB Taxation Training(C)
4.      Mining Accounting Training
5.      Short course on Syari'ah Accounting
6.      Intencive Training on management Export-Impor
7.      Workshop (local/regional/national)
Ad.1. Company Visits (SE)
1)    SE is considered as a scientific activity in SADAP when the SE committee could show the willingness response letter from the visited company.
2)     SE have to visit at least 3 companies if they take a route Malang-Bali/Malang-Jakarta/Malang-Bandung/Malang-Jokjakarta; and 2 companies if the route is Malang-Surabaya and/or in East Java.
3)     The participation proof of SE is shown by a certificate that is being signed by the head of department and dean/PD  I.
4)     Certificate is made by the SE committee in the approval of the head of department.
5)     The signing of SE certificate by the head of department was only be done after the committee submitted the SE report to the department.
6)  SE report is compiled by groups which consists of 5 students for every group. The report contains about activities and "invention" of the group during the company visits (the format can be seen at attachment page 1).
7)    The report from each groups will be bound become one file by the SE committee.
8)  SE committee have to consult with their representative lecturer and/or the department about cooperative planning with travel agent which concerning with the agreed cooperation contract.
   9)    SE certificate becomes a proof that will be attached at the time of proposing thesis supervisor.
 
Ad.2. Internship
1)    Internship is held during semester breaks so that it will not disturb the lecturing process.
2)     Location of internship is selected by the student or a group of students.
3)     Spesification of internship activity in the location must be in the same direction with accounting field.
4)     Internship can be done grouply with maximum 3 persons.
5)    Individual or group of students who will take internship have to register to the department or the supervisor.
6)   Individual or group of student who take internship have to consult their program planning and internship ocation to the department through the supervisor (in form of proposal) and ask a dispensation letter to the faculty
7)   The department will select the supervisor of internship who the job is to evaluate the proposal and monitor the internship.
8)    Individual or group of student who will take internship must show approval letter from the agency where they will practice at.
9)    At the end of internship, the students submit the report to the department to be documented.
10) Reference letter from the agency being a proof that will be attached at the time of proposing thesis supervisor.
 
Ad.3. Training on Brevet AB (C) Taxation
1)  Brevet tax is a training on comprehensive taxation that will give skill for student in solving any taxation problems.
2)   Brevet tax is held by Lab. of accounting every year. 
3)   Brevet tax is held in the collaboration with other parties which have competency in the field of taxation.
4)  Students who choose to get added value in the fiels of taxation is recommended to join this training.
5)   Students are not allowed to join brevet tax that is held by other institutes.
6)  Certificate of brevet tax being a proof that will be attached at the time proposing thesis supervisor.

Ad.4. Short course of Mining
1)     Short course of mining accounting is a training which give students the sufficient knowledge and skill in the field of mining accounting.
2)     Short course of mining accounting is held by Lab. of accounting annually (at the end of odd semester)
3)     Short course of mining accounting is held in the collaboration with PT. Tunas Inti Abadi (TIA)
4)     Short course of mining accounting is held for 2 days successively.
5)     Certificate as a workshop participant being a proof that will be attached at the time proposing thesis supervisor.
 
Ad.5. Short course of syari’ah accounting
1)   Trend on the development of banking and syari'ah financial institute required the graduate of accounting to have sufficient knowledge and ability in the field of syari'ah accounting.
2)     Short course of Syari'ah accounting is held by Lab. of accounting annually (at the end of odd semester).
3)    Short course of Syari'ah accounting is held in collaboration with Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI)
4)     Short course of Syari'ah accounting is held for 3 days successively.
5)    Certificate as a workshop participant will be a proof that is attached at the time proposing thesis supervisor.


Ad.6. Intensive Training on Management export-Impor
1)     Intensive training on management export-import (Eksim) tries to give students practice knowledge and skill about the complexity of eksim which could be applied directly in a company.
2)    Intensive training on management Eksim is held by the laboratory of accounting every year.
3)   Intensive training on management Eksim is held in collaboration with government agency / consutant affice and / or other agencies which have competence in accounting field.
4)     Certificate as a participant of shor course being a proof that will be attached at the time proposing thesis supervisor.
  
Ad.7. Workshop (local/regional/national)
1)    Another alternative for student’s value added program, the students could join a workshop either local, regional, national, or international.
2)   The participation in the workshop is considered as a part of SADAP if it fulfill the following requirements:
a.    Theme of the workshop is related to the accounting dicipline.
b.    The workshop is held by a credible institution.
c.    The ammount of workshop participation is (1) twice for national or international workshop; (2) three times for local or regional workshop.
3)    The participation proof is shown with certificate.
4)   Certificate as a workshop participant would be a proof that attached when submissing of thesis supervisor.
 
E.        CLOSING
This guideline is arranged for giving an alternative more varied for students to develop their knowledge and skill in the field of accounting.
Thus, the guidance is arranged to be a guideline for the implementation of  student’s added value programs (SADAP).
